After arriving at the team hotel Sherwood Lara, the first training session is already scheduled for late Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, some players cannot participate in the training camp due to injury:

Marco Djuricin has to take a break due to problems in his groin. Muharem Huskovic is plagued by the rear thigh, as he was at the end of the fall season. Dominik Fitz has to have plates taken out as a result of an earlier injury in the ankle (syndesmosis ligament). Ziad El Sheiwi is out for the whole season with his cruciate ligament tear.

In the meantime, the injured Violets will train individually at the Generali Arena together with our new physiotherapist Richard Horinka. In return, five young Austria talents will get their chance to show off for the first time in the pros' training camp: Philipp Klein (17, defender), Dario Kreiker (19, midfielder), Florian Wustinger (18, midfielder), Csaba Mester (19, striker) and Romeo Vucic (18, striker).

"Implementing tactical elements with the ball"

Coach Manfred Schmid: "We want to use the training camp to further develop our team in the technical-tactical area. At the same time, we also want to take another step forward in the physical area. The main focus, however, is on working with the ball. The training camp offers the best conditions to have many conversations with players and to grow together even more as a group."

Two international test matches in the training camp:

January 25: Austria Wien - FK Sochi, scheduled for 15:00 in Belek.

January 28: Austria Wien - FC Hradec Kralove, scheduled for 15:00 in Belek.

Coach Manfred Schmid: "The two test matches are real yardsticks from which we can see what we need to work on in training."
