Conde, Ivkic & Wustinger called up to U19 national team

The Austrian U19 national team will take part in a training course in Belek in mid-January. Team manager Martin Scherb has nominated four players from Austria Wien, Sandali Conde, Leonardo Ivkic, Florian Wustinger and Muharem Huskovic, the latter of whom will remain in Vienna in consultation with the Austrian Football Federation (ÖFB).

Sandali Conde, Leo Ivkic and Florian Wustinger will travel with the ÖFB squad to Turkey on January 15 to prepare for the UEFA Elite Round, which will be played from March 23-29. Austria will face Spain, Denmark and Russia, with only the group winner qualifying for the 2022 European Under-19 Championship in Slovakia.

"We got a great group, exciting tasks are waiting for us. We are really looking forward to it. I think it's a very balanced group where everything will be at stake from the first game. Every team has the right to advance," said team manager Martin Scherb after the draw in December.

Huskovic stays in Vienna, Wustinger happy

After consultation between Scherb and the sporting management of the Violets, Muharem Huskovic, who was originally nominated, will not take part in the training course. The 18-year-old will instead continue to work on his comeback in Vienna and complete the preparation with Manfred Schmid's team.

Full of joy about the call-up was Florian Wustinger, who has not only recommended himself for the first team through strong performances in the fall with the Young Violets, but also for the national team again. Sandali Conde, who was called up for basic military service with the Austrian Army on January 10, has been part of Scherb's squad for a long time, as has Leonardo Ivkic.
