1-1 – Points shared in Hartberg

The Violets took an early lead through Maurice Malone's header, but Hartberg equalized through Patrik Mijić in the first half. After the break, the Styrians pressed for the winning goal, but the Viennese also had good opportunities for an away win - in the end a fair draw.

Stephan Helm fielded a back four for the match against Hartberg, which is why Tin Plavotić was dropped from the starting eleven. Aleksandar Dragović started in the center alongside Lucas Galvão. Dominik Fitz returned to the team in attack. Moritz Wels was ruled out at short notice with muscular problems. Philipp Maybach, who has been training with the pros since this week, and David Ewemade made the squad instead.

Hartberg, who started the season with two defeats, were able to fall back on Manuel Pfeifer, who had been ill recently, in the back line. Justin Omoregie moved into defensive midfield, while Benjamin Markus remained on the bench. Aaron Sky Schwarz started in attack in place of Maximilian Fillafer.

Lightning start for the Violets, Hartberg equalize

Austria got off to a perfect start in Hartberg, Maurice Malone powerfully dispatched a header from a Dominik Fitz corner in the 3rd minute to make it 0-1. Hartberg responded with a chance through Patrik Mijić, but his shot went over the goal (10'). Paul Komposch had a much better chance shortly afterwards following a corner kick, but the ball also went over - from very close range (11'). Andreas Gruber had two chances, one shot went over the goal and a header from a Matteo Pérez Vinlöf cross was saved by Raphael Sallinger in the Hartberg goal (16th, 20th).

The home side stayed in contention and equalized through Patrik Mijić in the 29th minute, with Justin Omoregie providing the assist. Nik Prelec had the last chance of the first half after Malone's cross (45') - 1-1 at the break.

No goals after the break

Shortly after the break, Mijić again appeared in front of Samuel Şahin-Radlinger, but this time the Austria goalkeeper was the winner in this duel (49'). Şahin-Radlinger saved a header from Donis Avdijaj and Lucas Galvão blocked Jürgen Heil's follow-up shot.

After an hour, Stephan Helm switched to a back three, with Tin Plavotić replacing Maurice Malone. Dominik Fitz put a ball just past the far corner with his heel (60'). After a long ball, Samuel Şahin-Radlinger saved from Mijić, and substitute Elias Havel failed to convert the follow-up shot (66'). At the other end, Lucas Galvão popped up in front of Sallinger after a fine combination, but shot over the goal (69').

After that, another Austria talent made his debut for the team, with 16-year-old Philipp Maybach coming on for Abubakr Barry and Cristiano replacing Andi Gruber. Avdijaj missed another chance for the Styrians, but was just offside (77'). Matteo Pérez Vinlöf made a good run down the left flank and Cristiano almost scored to give the Violets the lead (81'). Şahin-Radlinger kept the upper hand against Havel, but Manfred Fischer's shot was blocked on the counter-attack (83', 84'). Muharem Husković came on for Nik Prelec in the final minutes. The score remained unchanged as Sallinger thwarted one last top chance from Dominik Fitz with a good save (90.+3) - the Violets pick up a point in Hartberg.
