15 Violets travelling internationally

While training takes place in Vienna in increasingly cold temperatures, 15 Violets are travelling with various national teams these days. Abubakr Barry, for example, is in the Gambian national team squad for the first time, Philipp Maybach and Konstantin Aleksa are in action with the Austrian U18s, Katharina Moser and Emily Schäfer with the red-white-red U17s. An overview.

Our midfielder Abubakr Barry is making his debut in this ADMIRAL Bundesliga break. The 24-year-old travelled to the Gambian national team for the first time, which is currently in the final phase of qualifying for the Africa Cup 2025. After four of six games, Gambia are in third place with five points, one point behind Comoros and two behind leaders Tunisia - and Abu Barry's team still have to face both nations. A win against Comoros (15.11., 19:00) and a draw against Tunisia (18/11, 20:00) would see them leap into the top two and secure their ticket to the Africa Cup.

Marvin Martins and his Luxembourg compatriots will face Bulgaria (15.11., 20:45) and Northern Ireland (18.11., 20:45) in the Nations League. The Luxembourgers are currently bottom of Group 3 in League C, but with two wins they could still move up to second place, which would entitle them to relegation to League B. If Martins & Co remain in fourth place, this could mean relegation to League D.

Many test matches & European Championship qualifiers for four violets

The Swedish U21 national team will face their age-mates from Ireland in a friendly double this week. Matteo Pérez Vinlöf has travelled to Marbella for the two matches (14.11., 20:00 & 17.11., 15:00) and is currently enjoying a pleasant 16 degrees Celsius.

Our Young Violets Marijan Österreicher, Marcel Stöger and Jonas Überbacher start the first round of the European Championship qualifiers with the Austrian U19 national team. Austria will face the hosts of the mini-tournament in Kosovo (13.11., 15:00), the Faroe Islands (16.11., 12:00) and Spain (19.11., 12:00). The best two nations and the best third-placed team in the group qualify for the elite round. With Dominik Nišandžić and Lars Stöckl, two more Austrian players are on call.

Konstantin Aleksa and Philipp Maybach will play twice with the Austrian U18 team against the Czech Republic (14 November, 12:00 & 17 November, 12:30). Team boss Martin Scherb has also placed Julian Höller on the call-up list.

The top three in each group will progress to the second round.
