SV Ried took the lead in the first half through a directly converted corner kick by Stefan Nutz in Maximilian Senft's coaching debut. Haris Tabaković equalized a little later with his fifth goal of the spring. Immediately after the change of ends, Ried's David Ungar saw the red card and the Violets turned the game around with an own goal from Julian Turi and a goal from Andreas Gruber. The 3:1 away win moves the Violets up to fifth place in the table for the time being.
Michael Wimmer could fall back on the same starting eleven as in the previous week. Goalkeeper Christian Früchtl after his concussion and Reinhold Ranftl reported fit in time.
SV Ried parted ways with head coach Christian Heinle during the week, with Maximilian Senft taking over at the bottom of the table. Senft made only one change to the starting lineup: Full-back Matthias Gragger moved into the team, Leo Mikić remained on the bench.
A good start by Austria led to the first chance, Reinhold Ranftl took a long pass from Lukas Mühl perfectly, laid off to Aleksandar Jukić, but he shot over the goal (7th). Ried countered well with aggressive pressing, Nikola Dovedan prevented a top chance of Aleksandar Lutovac in the back sprint (12th). Früchtl had no problem catching a shot by Stefan Nutz (14th).
In return, Ried goalkeeper Jonas Wendlinger already had more difficulties with a header from Haris Tabaković after a cross from Manuel Polster (15th). Unfortunately, Austria conceded a goal in the 22nd minute, Stefan Nutz directly converted a corner kick in Ačimovič style, Marvin Martins' rescue attempt was not crowned with success.
The Violets did not let the arrears sit, Haris Tabaković scored a goal into the short corner after a pass from Jukić - after a long VAR check due to a possible offside position, the goal counted, 1-1 in the 33rd minute.
With the equalizer, Austria was back in the game, a flat corner from Jukić was taken directly by Fischer, the ball was blocked (38th). Another finish from the Styrian in Austria's kit went past the goal (41st). Roko Jurišić had the last chance of the first half (45th+2), the game went into the halftime break with 1-1.
With the restart, Doron Leidner came on in place of Manuel Polster. David Ungar was late in the duel against Marvin Martins, brutally hit the Luxembourger on the ankle and immediately saw the red card from referee Markus Hameter. Martins was able to continue and pulled off an ambush in minute 53, but the shot went well over. A cracker from Jukić was parried with difficulty by Wendlinger (55th). Doron Leidner took a corner shortly afterwards, and Julian Turi headed Marvin Martins' header into his own goal - the game was turned around (56th)!
Austria had the game well under control with the lead and numerical superiority behind them. Tabaković had a good opportunity after a nice pass from Johannes Handl, but was just offside (66th). Lukas Kronberger, who had just been substituted, had an opportunity for the Innviertel side on the counterattack, but put the ball next to the goal (67th). Then Tabaković was on the spot again, but his turning shot from an acute angle missed the target (69th).
For Matthias Braunöder and Nikola Dovedan the game was over after 70 minutes, Can Keles and Andreas Gruber were substituted. Keles immediately came up with two good finishes: Wendlinger deflected a volley for a corner, a shot from a promising position missed (74th, 76th). In the 83rd minute, the Viennese closed the bag: a free kick by Jukić after a foul on Doron Leidner went into the wall, the ball came via detours to Andreas Gruber, who scored to make it 3:1. The assist came from Marvin Martins.
A shot by Leidner went over (88th), shortly before the end Michael Wimmer brought on Romeo Vucic and Matteo Meisl for Haris Tabaković and Aleksandar Jukić. Vucic had the last chance, but the result did not change. Austria celebrated a deserved 3:1 away win in Ried.
