All Austria Wien teams start their training

After the A-team has been training as a unit since Friday, the Young Violets also started training on Monday. There was a “smooth training start” for all youth, academy and women’s teams as well as the Special Violets. ‘It is particularly important for the many children and adolescents that there is a light at the end of the tunnel,’ says sports director Ralf Muhr.

As the second division also continues, the Young Violets COVID-19 tests were also carried out last Thursday. Accordingly, the team of coach Harald Suchard could start team training on Monday. Previously, like Grünwald & Co., they were informed in detail about the Bundesliga prevention concept before the first joint session by board member Peter Stöger and Sports Director Ralf Muhr.

Great fun for children: with distance and hygiene measures

Austria Wien’s youth and academy teams have no prospect of games in the near future. Based on the corresponding ordinance of the federal government and in compliance with the eleven recommendations for action of the ÖFB, the 160 children and adolescents can at least once again pursue their passion as part of a limited training program. From the U7 to the U18, very precise hygiene and distancing regulations have to be followed:

‘Last week, we trained every junior and academy trainer carefully and also informed all parents,’ emphasizes Muhr. Dressing rooms and showers are not being used; distances are maintained. ‘It is certainly a new form of training, but in addition to the physical and football activities, social contact between the players and with the coaches is very important for everyone involved,’ explains Austria Wien’s sports director.

Prospect of championship in autumn?

Austria Wien’s female players in the women's Bundesliga and the violet academy girls are also allowed to play football again. The women's team is able to start the new season in September, the academy and youth teams at the end of August at the earliest:

‘Everyone is just hoping to be able to start preparing during the summer - with the prospect of games in autumn. Then we will see how the game operation can look like. Of course, like all areas, we are also dependent on the development of the number of infections.’ As is well known, the current 2019/20 season has long since been cancelled in both the women's Bundesliga and the ÖFB youth leagues.
