‘After five successful years at Blau-Weiß Linz, the time has come for me to take the next step. Austria Wien was the ideal choice for me – the club and the surrounding area immediately convinced me. I am grateful that the transfer went so smoothly and I am really looking forward to the tasks ahead. I hope that I can do my part to help us achieve our common goals,’ says Almedina Šišić.

Offensive talent with a nose for goal

The versatile offensive player began her football career in 2013 at SV Purgstall before moving to Union Kleinmünchen in the summer of 2020, where she quickly became a regular starter in the 2nd division. In 2021/22, when the club played as a joint team with Blau-Weiß Linz, Šišić played a key role in the promotion to the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga with 19 goals in 22 games. The then 16-year-old also impressed in her debut season in the top flight, before taking another step forward in 2023/24 and finishing the season as the fifth-highest scorer with ten Bundesliga goals in 17 games.

In autumn 2024, Šišić made her World Cup debut with the Austrian U20 team, where she caused a little sensation alongside Austria player Alisa Ziletkina by reaching the round of 16. In the Bundesliga, the Lower Austria native scored four goals in 17 games in 2024/25. She last played for the U19 national team in April 2025, scoring twice and providing an assist (for Veilchen Sophie Rapf) in a 3-1 win over Belgium in the European Championship qualifiers. Šišić has played a total of 39 matches for Austria's U16, U17, U19 and U20 teams, scoring nine goals.

Stefan Kenesei: ‘We are delighted to have signed Almedina, one of Austria's most talented young players. She has already performed very well in the Bundesliga and in various national teams in recent years and has proven her qualities. This is also our way of offering young talents a platform to develop further. We want to give her these opportunities and take the next steps together with her.’
