Andrea Glibo is delighted about her move to Vienna and is looking forward to tackling the challenges ahead together: “My discussions with Austria Wien, the club’s vision for the future and its structures have left me with a very positive impression. We’ve been seeing the Veilchen develop over the last few years, and I believe there is still a great deal of potential in this team. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead in the league and the Champions League qualifiers.”
Glibo was born in Tyrol in 2002, but due to her Croatian roots has played for the Croatian (youth) national team since her teenage years. She began her career at SK Rum and moved to Wacker Innsbruck a little later. It was here that she made the leap into the first team in 2019. At the age of 19, she finally left Tyrol and continued her football career at SK Sturm Graz, where she played for the Black and Whites for three seasons and featured alongside Modesta Uka, among others. In 2024, she moved to the then-champions St. Pölten, where she spent the last two years.
Head coach Stefan Kenesei: “In Andrea Glibo, we are gaining a player who combines goal-scoring threat and creativity at the highest level. She not only possesses a keen finishing instinct but also an eye for the decisive final pass, enabling her to have a significant impact on matches. Furthermore, Andrea is an extremely positive, humorous and cheerful character whose energy enriches any team. We are delighted to welcome her to Austria Wien.”
