Arsenal, Barça & Co: Potential opponents in the league phase

Austria Wien have qualified for the league phase of the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time and can look forward to six clashes in autumn 2026. The draw to determine their opponents will take place on Friday 4 September from 12:00 at UEFA headquarters in Nyon. ORF Sport+ will broadcast the event live. A total of 18 teams are taking part in the main draw of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The nine clubs that qualified automatically were joined by nine more after they came through the qualifying rounds – including Jasmin Pal and her team.

UEFA divides all teams into three pots based on their club coefficient, with each club being drawn against two opponents from each pot. Austria will therefore host one club from each pot at the Franz-Horr-Stadion and, conversely, will also travel to face one team from each pot. The home and away fixtures are determined during the draw.

Match dates

It all kicks off in just under three weeks with the first match of the league phase. The exact match dates will be finalised and announced by UEFA on Saturday 5 September.

Format

During the league phase, all 18 teams compete against each other in a single league table. After the sixth matchday, the top four clubs qualify directly for the quarter-finals. The teams ranked 5th to 12th take part in the knockout-stage play-offs and compete against one another for the remaining four places in the quarter-finals. All other clubs from 13th place downwards are eliminated.
