Austria Ranks High Among Austrians & in Youth Development

Figures released on Wednesday by the Austrian Football Bundesliga show that Austria Vienna fielded the most Austrian players during the 2025/26 season; the Violets also had the most players under the age of 23 who were trained in Austria and made their Bundesliga debut. In the ranking of Austrian U22 players, Austria Vienna ranks third behind SV Ried and TSV Hartberg.

In addition, starting with the 2021/22 season, players under the age of 23 who were trained in Austria and make their Bundesliga debut are rewarded with the Debut Award—a specially designed trophy featuring the match ball from their first game. This season, 22 players who were fully trained in Austria got their first taste of the Bundesliga, most of them at FK Austria Wien with six debutants: Dejan Radonjic, Dominik Nisandzic, Marijan Österreicher, Vasilije Markovic, Romeo Mörth, and Ifeanyi Ndukwe
