"I'm looking forward to my new role at Austria and I'm really happy to be here. I'm fired up for the new season, can't wait for it to start and will give my all to achieve our common goals", said Maurice Malone after signing for the Violets.

Malone spent last season with FC Basel in Switzerland, for whom he played 16 games and scored three goals. The German-US-American made a name for himself in Austria in 2022/23 when he played for Wolfsberger AC. Malone scored nine goals in 29 games for the Carinthians. He won the only duel with the Violets on November 13, 2022 with 1-0.

Before his first stint in Austria, the left-footer also played on loan for 1. FC Heidenheim and SV Wehen Wiesbaden, while his regular club was FC Augsburg. Malone played a total of 17 international matches for German youth national teams, including two with Austria Wien goalkeeper Christian Früchtl and three with ex Violet Eric Martel.

Sporting Director Manuel Ortlechner: "We are delighted to have gained a powerful, dynamic and versatile striker in Maurice Malone. He proved two years ago at the WAC that he can play an important role not only as a goalscorer but also as an assist provider. Maurice gives us more flexibility in attack and he's eager to get going."
