Austria Wien signs Abdoulaye Kanté

Abdoulaye Kanté joins Austria Wien from Racing Club d'Abidjan. The 19-year-old striker was top scorer in Ligue 1 in Côte d'Ivoire in 2023/24 with 15 goals and has signed a five-year contract with the Violets until the summer of 2029.

Abdoulaye Kanté: "I'm delighted to be here - it's my first time outside Africa and everything is very exciting and new. I've already met everyone and was given a great and warm welcome, now I want to prove myself and am looking forward to my first appearances."

Sporting Director Manuel Ortlechner: "In Abdoulaye, we have secured a promising talent who was top scorer in Côte d'Ivoire's first division last season with 15 goals in 30 games. He will initially train with our partner club SV Stripfing and gain match practice in the 2nd division. In the medium term, we are confident that he will be another alternative for Stephan Helm in our attack."
