Austria Wien signs Matteo Schablas

Matteo Schablas moves from FC Liefering to Vienna and signs a long-term contract with the Violets until summer 2028. The 19-year-old left-back is an Austrian U19 team player and will initially train and play for our partner club SV Stripfing.

Schablas was born in Bavaria and made the leap from the youth ranks of FC Augsburg to FC Bayern at the age of 10. The Austrian-German dual national went through all the youth teams at the Bayern campus and matured into an Austrian youth team player at the same time. In the summer of 2023, the left-footer moved from Bayern's U19s to Salzburg, where he played in the Youth League and for FC Liefering in the 2nd division.
