Austria Wien start their training camp in Belek

On Friday, the two professional teams from Austria Wien took off towards Belek at just before 2pm, where the ‘Violets’ are intensively preparing for the spring season from January 24th to 31st. Except for Christian Schoissengeyr and Dominik Fitz, all players of the A-team could go on the trip.

Trainer Christian Ilzer: ‘We started our preparation with a clear plan and we are going through with it. The training camp is a normal training week in which we keep our rhythm. We will be spending a lot of time together in Turkey, so we can talk more about details.’

The ‘Violets’ get to the Hotel Mega Saray on Friday evening due to the two-hour time difference. The first training session therefore takes place on Saturday morning.

The training camp ends with a double test game against two international first division teams. Austria Wien will play against FK Dnipro from Ukraine and MFK Zemplín Michalovce from Slovakia on Thursday, January 30th.

‘We are aiming for every player to be able to give everything for 90 minutes, as they were during the last two test games for 45 minutes. Then we'll see roughly where we stand,’ says Ilzer.
