Caner Cavlan signs with Austria Wien

Now it’s official. The 27-year-old left-back comes from the Dutch first division club FC Emmen to ‘Favoriten’ and receives a contract until 2022. Cavlan has international experience, playing in Holland and Turkey so far.

Sports Director Ralf Muhr: “With Cavlan, we have managed to win a strong left-back for us, he fits well into our team mostly because of his offensive qualities. We feel his positive energy, with which he tackles the chapter Austria Wien. He has convinced us with his strong performance in the preseason and his positive mentality during our conversations. He wil definitely make us stronger.”

Caner Cavlan: "I am very happy and excited to play for Austria Wien. My feeling was very good the first time I visited the stadium. I had great discussions with the coach and the sports director and I think we will have a great season.”

Cavlan was a regular in Holland during the 2018/19 season, played in every game for FC Emmen, was on the court almost every single minute. The left-back scored a respectable eleven points (four goals, seven assists), ending up being the second-best scorer in his team.

"I had a great year in Holland and did a very good job. I also gained important experiences in Turkey before that. Now I want to prove to Austria Wien that I'm a good footballer,” said the 27-year-old left-back.
