After eight and a half years at Austria Wien, Young Violets coach Maximilian Uhlig is moving to SV Stripfing to take over as head coach. Florian Hart, most recently assistant coach at the Young Violets, follows Uhlig into the 2nd division.
Uhlig started his Violet coaching career in 2015 as coach of the U11s and was responsible for the U12s in 2016/17 and 2017/18. He became assistant coach of the U18s in the summer of 2020 and was head coach of the U16s in the following two seasons.
In the 2023/24 season, the 30-year-old took over as coach of the Young Violets in the Regionalliga Ost, where the Violets finished a strong fourth in the winter. Uhlig is now the coach of SV Stripfing, succeeding Christian Wegleitner, who moved to Michael Wimmer's team.
Max Uhlig: "Over the past few years, I've been through and got to know all levels of the Austria substructure as a coach, from the youth programme to the academy to the Young Violets, and I've learnt a lot in the process. Now I'm taking the next step to Stripfing in the 2nd division, which I'm really looking forward to. I have already coached many of the co-operation players myself and therefore know them all very well, and one or two of the Young Violets' talents may soon join them. I feel very connected to Austria and the path we have taken and continue to identify 100 per cent with it."
Sporting Director Manuel Ortlechner: "The fact that Max Uhlig, another coach from our ranks, has made the leap into professional football is a very positive sign and confirmation of our credo of developing players and coaches. We are delighted with this decision and I am convinced that not only Max and Florian Hart will benefit personally, but also the Stripfing team and especially our co-operation players."
