The basis of the cooperation, which was launched in summer 2023, was the exchange of talent between the Austria Vienna Bundesliga team, SV Stripfing in the 2nd division and the Young Violets in the Regionalliga Ost in the form of a three-stage model. After the Violets were relegated, Austria's talented players were given the opportunity to continue gaining match practice with Stripfing in the 2nd division. In addition, the Young Violets in the Regionalliga Ost became a platform for young academy players to gain their first experience in adult football.
Following promotion from the Regionalliga Ost, the Young Violets and SV Stripfing will both compete in the same level - the ADMIRAL 2nd Division - in the 2025/26 season. In order to preserve the integrity of the competition, cooperation in the current model is therefore no longer feasible. The cooperation agreement was cancelled with immediate effect in consultation with the Bundesliga and by mutual agreement between the two clubs.
SV Stripfing will no longer play its home matches at the Generali-Arena in future. In a transitional year, the second division club will continue to train on the Generali Arena training pitches as a subtenant in the 2025/26 season.
The Young Violets will continue training at the Austria Academy as before. In contrast to the Regionalliga Ost, the Young Violets' matches in the 2nd division will be played in the Generali-Arena.
Further information on the squad of our second team will follow in the coming weeks, training will start on Thursday 26 June at the Austria Academy. This much in advance: the aim of the Young Violets will continue to be to train young, home-grown players for our first team, regardless of the league.
