Lukas Mühl made his debut in the Austria kit, starting in place of Johannes Handl in central defense. In midfield, Alexander Grünwald started in Vesel Demaku's position. Aleksandar Jukić was given preference over Dominik Fitz.

At SV Ried, Felix Seiwald came into the starting lineup for Michael Lercher compared to the 7-0 away win in the Cup against Grödig. Leo Mikić and Tin Plavotić made their starting debuts in the Admiral Bundesliga.

No goals before the break

A dominant Austria had the first minor chances of the game. Already in the first minute there was a finish from Aleksandar Jukić, a header from Alexander Grünwald after Georg Teigl's cross went over the goal (3rd). After a free kick by Markus Suttner, a header by Christian Schoissengeyr was blocked for a corner (15.).

Austria had over 70% possession at the start, SV Ried had their first scoring chance in the 30th minute: a free kick by Daniel Offenbacher was headed towards goal by Seifedin Chabbi, Patrick Pentz held safely. Alexander Grünwald had a chance after a Jukić corner, but shot well over (33rd). Chabbi had to be treated for a laceration after a collision with Marvin Martins and could continue with a turban. A shot by Grünwald was parried by Samuel Sahin-Radlinger in the goal of Ried (45.).

Austria could not convert the clear field superiority into goals, with the 0:0 it went into the cabins.

Ried scored twice, Pichler's goal too little

Newcomer Philipp Pomer, who replaced Leo Mikić at halftime, had a great chance just 34 seconds into the game but missed the ball after a challenge in the penalty area. Grünwald shot over the goal in the 48th minute and Martins just missed after a nice solo effort (55th). After a deflection by Sahin-Radlinger, Ante Bajic appeared in front of Patrick Pentz and, contrary to the course of the game, made it 1:0 for the home team (56.).

Seifedin Chabbi had a chance to make it 2:0, Patrick Pentz prevented it (61.). On the other side, Sahin-Radlinger was on the spot with a shot from Manfred Fischer (62.). Manfred Schmid made his first change with Benedikt Pichler for Marvin Martins. Georg Teigl switched to the back four. With a directly converted free kick, Daniel Offenbacher made it 2-0 for the Innviertel side (67th). Georg Teigl saved from Philipp Pomer, Austria came increasingly under pressure (70.).

Dominik Fitz replaced Alexander Grünwald, Bajic slammed a ball into the outer net (73rd). In the 75th minute, hope sprouted in the purple camp, Benedikt Pichler converted a cross from Markus Suttner with a pike header for the equalizer.

In the final phase, the Violets pressed for the equalizer. Sahin-Radlinger prevented a goal by Markus Suttner (87th), otherwise the Ried back line defended well. Austria had to travel home from Ried without points.
