After an MRI on Monday afternoon in the private clinic Döbling, health partner of Austria Wien, Dominik Fitz was diagnosed with a torn muscle fibre in the area of the abdomen with a large haematoma. The 23-year-old sustained the injury under the influence of an opponent in the match against Austria Klagenfurt and will be out for several weeks.

Fitz went down on Sunday in the spring opener at the Generali-Arena after a duel with Thorsten Mahrer in the 10th minute and held his right lateral abdomen. After several attempts to continue playing, the midfielder had to leave the field after 22 minutes. He is now working on his comeback.
