The left-back has been playing for the Violets since 2011, went through the entire youth and academy system and only signed a professional contract in the summer.
Coach Manfred Schmid immediately noticed the 17-year-old at the Young Violets. El Sheiwi was pulled up into the squad of the fighting team and has already played six Bundesliga games this year, eight games he also came into play for the Young Violets.
He is not expected to be able to return to training until the summer preparation in June. More information is expected after the operation, against this background, no precise forecasts are given regarding a possible downtime. Club doctor Dr. Marcus Hofbauer will operate.
Manuel Ortlechner: "We have already talked to him today and encouraged him. For such a young player, this is of course a sobering diagnosis, but we immediately told him not to worry about the future. We will always be there for him and support him as best we can on his way back. For now, though, the most important thing for him is that the surgery goes well, then we'll plan further."
