Austria Wien signs Marco Djuricin

Marco Djuricin's transfer is complete. The 28-year-old attacker signs a contract with FK Austria Wien with immediate effect. The Austrian last played for KSC in the second German Bundesliga.

In Karlsruhe, where he was playing since summer 2019, his contract would have expired at the end of the season, but at his own request, this was already dissolved with 31 January 2021.

Coach Peter Stöger: "After the departures of Alon Turgeman and Bright Edomwonyi, we wanted to react. Now all the conditions have fit. With Marco, we have found a very good solution to qualitatively strengthen the team at the attacking position. We get an experienced player who knows the league."

Marco Djuricin, who has kept himself fit since leaving Karlsruhe in mid-January: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge at Austria Wien. For me, it's the first stop as a professional in Vienna, but at the same time it's also a return, as I already played here in the U14s with David Alaba, among others."

Asked about his shirt number, the returnee says: "92 is my year of birth, so I didn't think twice about it."

The medical checks have already been completed, Djuricin has already joined the team's training on Tuesday.
