Handl & Wustinger ruled out through injury

Johannes Handl suffered a lateral collateral ligament tear in training and will not be available to Stephan Helm for the time being. Florian Wustinger, who completed his summer preparations with SV Stripfing, also injured his shoulder in training, has already undergone surgery and will be out for several months.

Handl was examined by Dr Marcus Hofbauer at the Privatklinik Döbling, Austria Wien's health partner, who diagnosed a tear in the lateral collateral ligament of the right knee. The centre-back is currently undergoing conservative treatment with a splint, forcing him to take a break.

Wustinger suffered a shoulder dislocation with a detachment of the cartilage lip of the joint socket and a detachment of the Hill-Sachs lesion as well as a tear at the insertion of the long biceps tendon. Shoulder specialist Dr Roman Ostermann reconstructed the cartilage lip arthroscopically and fixed the biceps tendon anchor. For the midfielder, this means several more weeks in a splint.
