"Stay on the accelerator at full throttle" in Tyrol

Three days after the 3:0 home win, Austria Vienna play WSG again on Tuesday at 18:30, this time away in Tirol. Coach Michael Wimmer gives a personnel update & talks about the "return match" against the fourth-placed team in the qualifying group.

Half of the final round has been played, Austria leads WAC by six points with five rounds to go and Altach by nine. The chances of participating in the play-off (part one on 21 May) are good. Over the next few weeks, the Violets will play each of their opponents in the qualifying group once more:

"The important thing is that we keep our foot on the accelerator, continue to be greedy, don't look at the table at all and go into every game wanting to win it. We also want to play to win in Tyrol," emphasised coach Michael Wimmer, who was very satisfied with the performance in the 3:0 home win against Thomas Silberberger's team for long stretches:

"Apart from brief phases in the second half, we played a good game and deserved to win. The running was very good - that's when things get better in terms of play. But there were also things we didn't like, which we want to put right on Tuesday in Tyrol. You also saw on Saturday that Tirol are a good team - they pressed for the final goal at one stage when they were 2-0 up. We know that they are dangerous. I think they'll go into the game with a bit of anger in their stomachs because of the defeat," said Michael Wimmer.
