A visit with Kathrin Gaál

The Deputy Mayor welcomes the violets

In the beautiful courtyard of Vienna City Hall, Deputy Mayor Kathrin Gaál received the Violet delegation led by President Kurt Gollowitzer, sporting director Lisa Makas, captain Verena Volkmer, Dominique Bruinenberg, CEO Harald Zagiczek and Head of Marketing & Sales Johannes Dobretsberger.

President Kurt Gollowitzer: "International Women's Day should also remind us all that we must do everything we can to ensure that the next generations do not have to overcome the same obstacles and hurdles as some still do today. It's about ensuring equal opportunities for women and men - whether in business, in sport or in the private and family environment!"

Sporting director Lisa Makas: "We are still a long way from women and men having the same opportunities and possibilities. There is a lot of talk about this and that's a good thing, but even more important are campaigns and signs such as International Women's Day or Vienna Women's Week. We have to keep drawing attention to this so that the many young girls and women, like the ones we have at the Academy and in our team, can live in an equal world in the future."

Deputy Mayor Kathrin Gaál: "Women's Day is important to draw attention to the fact that we stand up for equal opportunities and equal rights every day - especially in sport. Austria Wien is a club that has been committed to girls' and women's sport for many years and is looking to the future with this offensive tactic for equal rights. The great players are personalities and role models for many girls in our city. A big thank you for that!"
