Our line-up on International Women's Day

Today, 8 March, is International Women's Day. Austria Wien is proud of all its female players, coaches, employees and supporters, not just today, but every single day. Without them, our club would not be complete. A strong society needs women. So does a strong Austria!

Numerous women come and go at Austria Wien every day, ensuring that our beloved club runs and functions as it does. The legal department, stadium management, events department, hospitality area, merchandising, club services – all these areas, to name but a few, are managed or co-managed by strong women.

Larissa Olof, for example, takes care of the VIP areas and ensures that everything runs smoothly there. Stefanie Günther ensures that the Generali Arena can and will be used as an event location even on non-match days.

Jessica Steiner makes sure that our fans can treat themselves to jerseys and fan merchandise. And Monja Bešlić makes sure that all tickets are sold over the violet counter.

Sabine Horzynek keeps an eye on the work behind the scenes and ensures that our stadium runs smoothly. And Lea Herold makes sure that the Violets are also visible on social media.

Carina Wenninger is involved in the further development of the women's department when she is not on the pitch herself. And Nina Silvester makes sure that all contracts are sound.

Alexandra Stumpf ensures that our fans have the best stadium experience. And last but not least, Almedina Šišić and Courtney Strode make sure that the violet women amaze with their football skills.

Eleven women who represent all those without whom Austria Wien would not function. These eleven women are our starting eleven for International Women's Day 2026. Violets, we are proud of you!

International Women's Day

First celebrated in 1911 and taking place on 8 March since 1922, International Women's Day draws attention to the lack of equality in society. It aims to raise awareness and break down barriers. Even in 2026, women still face obstacles, whether in sport, in the workplace or in their private lives. Let's work together to raise awareness – for a strong society. And a strong Austria.
