Preview of the away match against WSG Tirol

Austria Wien will be playing away in Tyrol on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the tenth round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. Before the international break, the Violets suffered a 0-1 home defeat against Blau Weiß Linz, having previously celebrated four consecutive victories. Coach Stephan Helm sets the tone for the away game against WSG: 'The key will be to bring back the few percentage points that we may have been missing recently, so that the players can reward themselves with a sense of achievement for the great effort they have put in over the last two weeks of training.'

The Violets used the first week of training during the international break primarily to further develop their own game: 'We worked a lot on our behaviour and trained intensively. This week, the focus has been more on the away game in Tyrol. WSG have shown in recent games that they always want to play courageously. We have prepared well for their style of play and will definitely take our opponents 100 % seriously,' says coach Stephan Helm.

WSG Tirol are currently in tenth place with nine points and one game in hand, while Austria (13) are fifth. After the away game in Tyrol and the subsequent home game against FC Red Bull Salzburg (Sunday, 26 October, 5 p.m.), half of the regular season will be over: 'After eleven rounds, you can of course already see a certain trend in which direction things are going. At this stage, it is crucial that we remain extremely focused, because most of the games in our league are very close. If we consistently perform at our best, we have a good chance of winning many games – we have proven that many times before. We are on the right track in the championship,' explains Stephan Helm, whose team has won four of its last five games.

Personnel news

Kang Hee Lee and Tin Plavotić were able to train fully with the team again this week and are back in contention for selection. Compared to the home game against FC Blau-Weiß Linz, Philipp Wiesinger and Abu Barry, who were recently suspended, return to the squad. Otherwise, the personnel situation remains unchanged. Joe Handl, Ziad El Sheiwi, Florian Wustinger and Romeo Vučić are still out.
