Romeo Vučić extended until 2027

Romeo Vučić has played for the Violets for eleven years, having been a ball boy, youth player and academy player. In the current season, he has made twelve appearances for the club. Austria Vienna has now extended the 21-year-old striker's contract on a long-term basis until the summer of 2027.

Sporting Director Manuel Ortlechner: "We see great potential in Romeo, which he has been able to demonstrate in the last few months with the team. In this respect, it was very important to us to offer him a long-term contract as a child of Austria. Romeo also signalled to us right from the start that he definitely wants to continue playing for our colours - that also speaks for him and his commitment to Austria."

Coach Michael Wimmer: "Romeo has taken a big step in his development in recent months. I'm impressed by the way he's never let himself down, even in difficult phases, and has always continued to work hard on himself. He has taken a good path. And I'm very pleased that he made the most of his opportunity with good performances in the spring. We hope that his development continues like this."

Romeo Vučić: "It means a lot to me that I can continue to wear the Austria jersey in the coming years. I've been playing here for eleven years, as a ball boy and academy player the first team was still a long way off for me - so it means all the more to me now that I've been able to extend my contract. It makes me happy and gives me additional motivation to sacrifice myself even more for this club and these colours."
