The Vienna derby is on everyone's lips, everyone is talking about it, everyone is looking forward to it. Austria has two impressive series to defend on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Most recently, the Violets celebrated five wins in a row for the first time since the fall of 2015, and the Veilchen are still unbeaten at Allianz Stadium: "I hope that we continue both series. That will be a super Sunday, a highlight. There hasn't been a derby with such omens that arouses so much interest for ages," emphasizes Manfred Schmid.

The Austria coach is still in quarantine, he followed the training sessions via live broadcasts, he is in constant contact with his team: "Personally, I'm feeling a bit better, on Saturday it will be decided whether I can be there. We are well prepared for all eventualities," says Manfred Schmid.
And if it doesn't work out to be at the derby in person? "Then I will be connected to my team by phone and get the live picture from my video analyst at home. In addition, I'll watch the game live on Sky. I will be in contact with my coaching team throughout and intervene when it is really necessary. I have full confidence in my colleagues," explains the Austria coach.
In the championship group, many teams are close together. Austria (2nd) has one point more than its city rival (5th). Nine rounds are still to be played, and the first of two derbies is scheduled for Sunday. The first two duels of the season ended 1-1 in each case: "I expect an intense game from the first minute, a match of equals in which there is no real favorite. It's a game of high importance that both want to win at all costs," said Schmid.
Austria has more players available again compared to the home win against WAC: "Our personnel situation is relaxed. We can again fall back on Lukas Mühl, Manfred Fischer, Leonardo Ivkic and Romeo Vucic. That gives us more options," says Manfred Schmid. Whether Aleksandar Jukic will be able to play again is still open.
