Emotions ran high when the Violets prevailed against Slavia Praha in a penalty shootout last Wednesday. The victory saw them qualify for the main competition of the UEFA Women's Europa Cup and they are now in the round of 16, where they will face Belgian cult club RSC Anderlecht.
The Belgians prevailed against SC Braga in the second qualifying round. In the Belgian league, Anderlecht finished as runners-up in 2024/25 after winning the championship seven times in a row. Anderlecht currently leads the table on equal points with defending champions OH Leuven.
The first leg will be played away in Anderlecht (November 11/12), with the return leg then taking place in Vienna (November 19/20). If Austria wins, the Violets will face the winners of the Sparta Praha vs. Young Boys tie in the quarterfinals.
