Manfred Fischer & Co were delighted to start their summer preparations yesterday (Monday). The Veilchen completed their first training session of the new 2025/26 season in ideal conditions – with several young Austria players also taking part. The first double header of test matches will take place in Burgenland this coming Saturday, 28 June.

While the Violet coaching team was busy preparing the training grounds behind the Generali Arena and head coach Stephan Helm answered questions from the media, Aleksandar Dragović and Tin Plavotić were the first two Veilchen to step onto the lush turf. After a short speech in the team circle, the first session of the season began, and the mood was correspondingly positive.
In addition to former cooperation players Sanel Šaljić, Dejan Radonjić and Matteo Schablas, Ifeanyi Ndukwe from the Young Violets was also part of the team. The 17-year-old centre-back recently extended his contract with Austria and will complete his preparations with the professionals alongside the aforementioned trio. New signing Kelvin Boateng was not on the pitch on the first day and trained individually for the time being.
Today, Tuesday, the Violets are put through their paces in the gym and on the treadmill. The motor skills tests include various strength and jumping exercises as well as an intensive endurance session, and body fat measurements are also taken.
Six more training sessions are scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday, before the first test matches take place on Saturday afternoon. At 4:30 p.m., the Violets will face ASKÖ Kobersdorf (II. Liga Mitte, 5th tier) and Mattersburger SV (Burgenlandliga, 4th tier) at 6:00 p.m. Each match will last 60 minutes. Tickets for the doubleheader in Kobersdorf are available at the fan shop and at the box office on site.
