The Violets secured another victory in their second friendly match of the winter preparations. After the original match against Slovácko had to be cancelled, the Austria women travelled to the Slovakian capital on Thursday afternoon. There they faced Slovan Bratislava, the team currently in second place in the Slovakian league.
The Violets were largely the dominant team in the match, but Slovan repeatedly showed flashes of their strengths. An early goal by Almedina Šišić (11') gave Austria a 1-0 lead at half-time. In the second half, Courtney Strode (47') and Maria Agerholm (72', 79') sealed the 4-0 final score. It was a successful friendly match before Stefan Kenesei's team heads to Turkey for a training camp on Friday.
