Violets started short trip to Portugal

Austria Wien will meet the French top club AS Monaco on Wednesday, July 6 in Portugal. Manfred Schmid's team already arrived today (Tuesday) and checked into the hotel.

At exactly 18:00 local time (19:00 CEST), flight TLJ754F landed in Faro. On board the Embraer aircraft were 22 players and eleven staff members, who then traveled directly on to the hotel in Monchique, a good hour's drive from Faro.

After dinner, Manfred Fischer & Co surprised physiotherapist Roberto Baumgartner on the occasion of his 34th birthday with a big cake and a more or less coherent serenade sung but with a lot of passion.

On Wednesday, it goes to activate after breakfast, followed by lunch and the meeting, before the test match against AS Monaco at 17:00 local time (18:00 CEST). The match in the Algarve will also be played in private at the request of the French.

Before the Violets head back to Austria on Thursday afternoon, a training session is scheduled for the morning.
