Stephan Helm took over as head coach of the Veilchen in the summer of 2024 and has since posted a positive record. In 69 games so far, the team has averaged 1.72 points per game. Already in his first season, Austria was in contention for the championship title right up until the final round. In the current season as well, the team secured early qualification for the championship group before the conclusion of the 22nd round—for the second time in a row and only the second time since the introduction of the new league format in the 2018/19 season.

In addition to head coach Helm, the contracts of the two assistant coaches, Christian Wegleitner and Christoph Glatzer, were also extended. Furthermore, Austria continues to prioritize continuity across the entire coaching staff: goalkeeper coach Udo Siebenhandl, athletic trainers Christian Balga and Daniel Gangl, as well as the two video analysts Daniel Gasser and Philipp Steiner, will also remain part of the team.

Sports Director Tomas Zorn: “Stephan Helm has demonstrated through his performance that he remains the right coach for Austria Vienna. During my first few months at the club, I was able to gain a clear understanding of his approach and that of his coaching staff. He works in a clear, structured manner and with a high degree of professionalism. He has succeeded in establishing stable processes and fostering strong team spirit within the squad and the entire coaching staff. Together, we are pursuing the goal of getting the most out of this season, continuously developing our players, and gradually integrating young talents into a functioning team with experienced leaders. We are convinced that continuity in the coaching position is a key building block for the club’s further development.”

Head Coach Stephan Helm: “I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the club’s leadership and the organization. I view it as a great responsibility to continue, together with the coaching staff, on the path we have embarked upon. Over the past two and a half years, I have had the opportunity to get to know the club from many different perspectives—it is time well spent to be able to actively help shape such a special club with so much tradition and to move ambitiously into the future together. I consider it a privilege to be part of Austria.”
