Patrick Pentz was called up by team boss Franco Foda on Monday morning and is in the Austrian national team squad for the first time. With Matthias Braunöder, Muharem Huskovic, Leonardo Ivkic and Eric Martel there are also four U21 team debutants.
From the call-up list, Patrick Pentz has made it into the Austrian national team squad for the first time. After Alexander Schlager had to pass, the violet goalkeeper was called up for the last two World Cup qualifiers against Israel (Nov. 12, 8:45 p.m., live on ORF 1) and Moldova (Nov. 15, 8:45 p.m., live on ORF 1). Both matches will be played in Klagenfurt's Wörthersee Stadium.
The Austrian U21 national team plays in Azerbaijan (Nov. 12, 5 p.m., live on ORF Sport+) as part of the qualification for the U21 European Championship and then meets Croatia in Ried (Nov. 16, 8:30 p.m., live on ORF Sport+). Team manager Werner Gregoritsch has called up four Austria Wien players - Vesel Demaku, Matthias Braunöder, Muharem Huskovic and Leonardo Ivkic - and the latter three will be making their debut in the U21 team. Moreover, Huskovic and Ivkic are only the third and fourth players born in 2003.
Eric Martel, who was originally called up to Germany's U20 national team, also makes his debut in the U21 squad. The defensive midfielder was also recalled by national coach Antonio Di Salvo and will face Poland (Nov. 12, 6:15 p.m., live on ProSieben MAXX) and San Marino (Nov. 16, 6:15 p.m., live on ProSieben MAXX) in the U21 European Championship qualifier.
The fifth Violet in the U21 European Championship qualifiers is Filip Antovski, who will face Ukraine (Nov. 11, 1 p.m.) and France (Nov. 16, 6:30 p.m.) with North Macedonia both in Skopje respectively.
Ziad El Sheiwi is once again in the Austrian U18 national team, which awaits two friendly internationals against the Czech Republic (Nov. 10, 3 p.m. & Nov. 13, 11 a.m., both live on ÖFB TV) at the Football Academy Burgenland.
