Violets start training camp

Austria Wien is preparing for the new season this week at the AVITA Resort in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, just as it did last year. Eight training sessions are scheduled until Saturday, and the training camp will conclude with a test match against Bohemians Prague. Stephan Helm wants his players to ‘have a good time, but also really push themselves on the pitch.’

At 8:00 am sharp, the violet team bus left the Generali Arena and set off for Bad Tatzmannsdorf. On board were 24 of the 25 players scheduled to travel; Luca Pazourek was completing his military service and travelled separately at midday. Also not on the bus was the coaching team, who had left a little earlier to welcome the team to the AVITA Resort in the best possible condition.

Full throttle in ideal conditions

After arriving and checking into their rooms, the first training session was immediately on the agenda. It was a relaxed session, mainly consisting of a football tennis tournament, in which new signing Manprit Sarkaria, Sanel Šaljić and the goalkeeper duo Samuel Şahin-Radlinger/Lukas Wedl were able to show their skills. Beforehand, the team sang a birthday song for Tin Plavotić and formed a guard of honour.

In his speech, coach Stephan Helm set the tone for the week: ‘We have really good conditions here again, and we want to take advantage of that. Everyone should have a good time here, but also work hard so that we can continue to improve. On the pitch, it's now time to really push forward, full throttle – that's what the next few days are all about.’

In addition to the training sessions, there will also be a team-building event on Thursday and a friendly match on Saturday, 5 July. At the end of the training camp, the Violets will face Bohemians Prague, who finished tenth in the Czech league in 2024/25, in Stuben. Kick-off is at 11:00 am.
