Wimmer: "We want our home streak to continue!"

In the 24th round, the Veilchen will face Blau Weiß Linz on Friday evening (19:30) in the Generali-Arena. 10,500 tickets have been sold. Despite some personnel worries, the Violets are going into the match with a broad chest and want to prolong their home series. "Together with the fans, we will do everything we can to keep this streak going!" says coach Michi Wimmer.

Head coach Michi Wimmer on...

...the home series:

"We'll do everything we can to keep the streak going, we're now unbeaten at home for ten games in a row. But it will be extremely difficult. Both the 2:1 away win and the 4:0 home win against Blau Weiß were clearer in terms of the result than the course of the game."

...the international break:

"We made good use of the break. There were only 10 or 11 players in training, but we discussed a lot of group tactics, practised our chain behaviour and regenerated well. For us as a coaching team, such a breather is always good, also to analyse the last few weeks in peace."

...controlling the game:

"We need to control games for longer, we can't get sloppy in terms of dominance, we're still not consistent enough there. We have to find ourselves in the moments when we lose control in order to regain it. The back-and-forth in Linz was a prime example of that: We gave the balls away up front, wanted to play with just one contact, when perhaps two or three contacts would have been helpful at times to calm the game down."

Jo Handl about his personal development: "When I see my data, it makes me proud. But I don't feel underestimated. I have to deliver my performance. How others perceive me is irrelevant. For me, the coach's trust is crucial. That's the only way I can give something back. I am now receiving this trust for the first time in my career. I have learnt that you can never be without mistakes. It's important to feel that your coach has your back."
