Yvonne Weilharter extended until 2025

Austria Wien and Yvonne Weilharter are moving into the future together, extending their contract until the summer of 2025. The 22-year-old moved to Vienna from RB Leipzig last June and immediately advanced to become an absolute regular and leading player.

"It was already clear to me last year that I wanted to help Austria Wien take the next steps in its development. You can tell that the whole club is behind the women's department and wants to make a difference. I feel extremely comfortable here and look forward to continuing to wear the violet jersey with pride," said Yvonne Weilharter about the extension.

Weilharter missed the start of the season with a slight injury, but has since played eleven of the twelve possible competitive matches, nine of which went the full distance, and has also captained the Violets on the field.

The six-time international, who is usually deployed as a central defender, has scored two goals so far, most recently in a 1-0 home win over Neulengbach in mid-March. Weilharter is currently on call-up for the national team under Irene Fuhrmann.

Lisa Makas, sporting director: "Personally, I am particularly pleased that we were able to extend the contract with Yvonne. She brings a lot of experience, also from abroad, to our team and is, despite her young age, a great support for the many younger players in our team. It is a great sign for the entire club to be able to go into the future with Yvonne.
