Coach Michael Wimmer made an enforced change to the starting eleven for the match against Altach: the suspended Lucas Galvão was replaced by Matteo Meisl. Luca Pazourek was back in the squad after recovering from concussion.

Joachim Standfest, the Vorarlberg coach, was without Mike Bähre, who was suspended for yellow cards. Jan Jurčec started in place of the German, with Gustavo Santos replacing Atdhe Nuhiu in attack.

Fitz scored for the third game in a row

Gustavo Santos scored for the hosts after just 36 seconds, but was a few millimeters offside - luck for Austria. In the 9th minute, Dominik Fitz scored the opening goal for the Violets after a beautiful move and assist from Romeo Vučić. The flag went up again, but this time the goal counted after the VAR review.

Austria combined nicely through the Altach ranks. However, a shot from Andreas Gruber went well over the goal and a shot from Reinhold Ranftl missed the target (16', 19'). Vučić also tried a long-range shot, but also missed the target (24'). After that, the game settled down, with Altach coming into their own towards the end of the first half. Santos put a header next to Christian Früchtl's box after a cross from Christian Gebauer (41'). After a throw-in, Tin Plavotić got in a header, but Dominik Reiter saved from the line (45'). Austria went into the half-time break with a narrow lead.

Equalizer in stoppage time

It took a while for the first shot on goal in the second half: Manfred Fischer took a shot in the 61st minute, but did not aim well enough. At the other end, Chris Früchtl was forced into a save from a Santos shot. Shortly afterwards, Michi Wimmer made a double substitution: Muharem Husković and Moritz Wels came into the side for Andreas Gruber and Hakim Guenouche.

Frans Krätzig dribbled his way into the penalty area with a one-two with Vučić and Lukas Gugganig almost tucked the ball into his own goal. Johannes Handl's shot from the subsequent corner kick was blocked (77', 78'). Alexander Schmidt replaced Romeo Vučić ten minutes before the end and James Holland came on for Dominik Fitz in the 90th minute. Früchtl had few problems with a shot from Santos, Husković failed to beat Dejan Stojanović on the counter-attack (90+4'). In the 95th minute, Altach hit a free-kick into the penalty area and, after a collision and a deflected shot from Sofian Bahloul, the ball landed with the completely free Gugganig, who pushed the ball over the line.

Austria had to settle for a 1-1 draw in Altach.
