The number of call-ups for the training courses in September was significantly high this time. Our youth teams in particular are enjoying a large number of nominations across national borders. Austria Wien unites generations, all genders, all nations!

Midfield strategist Abubakr Barry, who made a strong debut for the Violets, will lace up his boots for his home country Gambia. The 24-year-old and his team-mates will face Comoros (September 4) and Tunisia (September 8) in Group A of the Africa Cup qualifiers.

Left-back Matteo Pérez Vinlöf has been called up to the Swedish U21 national team. The 18-year-old will face Gibraltar (06.09.) in the U21 European Championship qualifiers. A few days later, the young Swedes will face their peers from Moldova (10.09.).

Muharem Husković was in the squad for the domestic U21 national team, but had to miss out due to a minor injury and is fully focused on his recovery during the league break.

17 team players from the Austria academy

The U19 national team squad includes three players from the Young Violets: goalkeeper Jonas Überbacher, Marijan Österreicher and Marcel Stöger. Two other ex-Austrians, Petar Marković and Luka Izderić, who both moved to Italy in the summer, are also in the squad. The Red-White-Red team will travel to Belgium for the double international (07.09. & 10.09.).

Philipp Maybach, Konstantin Aleksa, Julian Höller and Romeo Mörth will spend a training course with the Austrian U18s in Lindabrunn from September 1 to 6, as there are no qualifiers in this age group.

With Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Hasan Deshishku and Vasilije Marković, three players from last year's U16 championship team are in the squad of the red-white-red U17 team, which will face Finland twice at the Football Academy Burgenland in Mattersburg (04.09. & 07.09.).

Marcel Alphonsus, Elias Kahr, Nico Reismüller and Luca Mijatović also have a double international match scheduled with Austria's U16s. In the prestigious duel, former Veilchen Manfred Zsak's team will host Germany twice in Grödig (05.09. & 08.09.).

Furthermore, Illia Menshykov (U17 Ukraine), Noel Polonkai (U15 Hungary) and Alan Lembakoali (U15 Slovakia) have the chance to prove their skills with their respective national teams.

Manuel Takacs, sporting director of the Austria Academy, on the many call-ups: "It is always a special honor for us and the boys when they are called up by their nations. We are delighted with this great moment, but we know that we want to maintain this level and continue to call up a large number of team players in the future."

In the women's team, Alisa Ziletkina secured Austria's first win against Ghana at the U20 World Cup in Colombia on Tuesday, coming on as a substitute shortly before the end of the match.

The 16-year-old talents Katharina Moser and Emily Schäfer, who played themselves into the limelight for the purple women at the start of the season with strong performances, were already in action twice against the Czech Republic last week. In the first game, Austria - with Moser and Schäfer starting from the 62nd minute - were beaten 3-1. In the second game, Emily Schäfer scored the last goal in a 4-0 victory over the Czech Republic. Academy player Ivona Radošević and Bosnia and Herzegovina will also face Poland twice in the coming days (07.09. & 10.09.).
