Muki Husković was not in the squad with knee problems, Michael Wimmer relied on newcomer Fisnik Asllani in the attack. Otherwise, the starting eleven remained unchanged from the match against LASK, with Matan Baltaxa also able to take part in the 50th anniversary match in Favoriten after overcoming concussion.

Peter Pacult had to do without goalkeeper Phillip Menzel at short notice, Marco Knaller was in the box for Austria from Klagenfurt. In attack, Florian Jaritz started in place of Jonas Arweiler.

Guenouche scored for the first time for Violett, Klagenfurt equalized

Not much was missing, then Fisnik Asllani could have celebrated a perfect debut. Goalkeeper Knaller prevented the first goal in the second minute. But a little later, more than 13,000 spectators in the Franz Horr Stadium were allowed to cheer, Hakim Guenouche scored with his head after a perfect cross from Reinhold Ranftl to make it 1-0 (3rd). Asllani had another opportunity after winning the ball, again Knaller remained the winner (6th). In the 9th minute Klagenfurt came to the surprising equalizer through Sinan Karweina's 5th goal of the season.

The Violets were not deterred by the goal, Guenouche missed a Stanglpass from Asllani by a hair's breadth (15th). A corner from Dominik Fitz was extended by Andreas Gruber with his heel - just past the goal (30th). A finish by Matthias Braunöder also missed its target by a few centimeters (34th). Marvin Martins had a chance after a corner from Fitz, but Knaller made up for his previous mistake (37th).

Klagenfurt rarely got in front of our goal, in the 43rd minute Christian Früchtl defused a shot by Florian Jaritz. The game went into the break with a score of 1-1.

Gkezos put Klagenfurt in the lead, Gruber with the equalizer

The second half started with a bar cracker by Reinhold Ranftl after nice preparation by Fisnik Asllani (47th). In the 50th minute referee Christian-Petru Ciochirca decided on a penalty after a foul on Asllani, but took the decision back after video study. Dominik Fitz had a great chance to regain the lead after a cross from Hakim Guenouche, but failed to beat Marco Knaller (53rd). Andreas Gruber put a header past the second bar - the cross again came from the today very strong Guenouche (54th).

After Matthias Braunöder's cross, it was Guenouche again who came to the header, but the ball went far over the goal (63rd). Austria Klagenfurt took the lead with the first noteworthy chance in the second half, Kosmas Gkezos scored with his head after a corner kick to make it 1-2 (70th).

Wimmer then made two changes, Aleksandar Jukić and Alexander Schmidt came on for Fitz and Asllani. A little later Manuel Polster replaced Hakim Guenouche. A shot by Ranftl was blocked (84th), then Michi Wimmer changed twice more. Romeo Vučić came on for Braunöder, Matteo Meisl replaced Matan Baltaxa. The Violets were unlucky with another goal from Aleksandar Jukić (84th), but the equalizer was still to come. Andi Gruber scored - already in stoppage time - after a free kick by Jukić with his head to make it 2-2 (90th+1).

A superior Austria from Vienna (18-9 shots on goal, 7-3 shots on goal, 2 shots on target) ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
