2-2 against Sturm Graz

Sturm took a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from William Bøving and Seedy Jatta and had the game under control. Two yellow cards against the Austrian champions within a few minutes completely changed the character of the encounter. The Violets pinned the champions back in their own penalty area and goals from Matteo Pérez Vinlöf and Lucas Galvão equalised. In the end, Austria and Sturm drew 2-2.

After the Vienna derby, the supplementary match of the 6th round was on the agenda and coach Stephan Helm made only one change compared to Sunday: Matteo Pérez Vinlöf started in place of Hakim Guenouche. Aleksandar Dragović and Nik Prelec were fit again in time.

Sturm suffered a bitter home defeat against WAC, with Christian Ilzer's starting XI changing in four positions: Niklas Geyrhofer replaced Emanuel Aiwu in central defence, Malick Junior Yalcouye and William Bøving were new in midfield. Amady Camara started up front alongside Seedy Jatta, while Mika Biereth remained on the bench.

Sturm with two goals before the break

The opening phase at the Generali-Arena was characterised by many duels, the first minor chance came from Andreas Gruber, who was unable to get a good enough shot on goal from Reinhold Ranftl (3rd). Nik Prelec then had a shot on target after good work from Dominik Fitz, but missed (8). The champions from Graz had the first opportunity in the 10th minute, William Bøving also missed the target after preparatory work by Seedy Jatta. Unfortunately, Samuel Şahin-Radlinger's first shot on goal was also on target, William Bøving scoring after a solo run to make it 1-0 for the visitors (24').

The Violets kept at it, with shots from Maurice Malone and Manfred Fischer being blocked (26'). At the other end, Şahin-Radlinger saved a powerful shot from Emir Karic, and the Austria goalkeeper was also on hand to stop a shot from Amady Camara (31', 34'). A mistake in the build-up allowed Sturm to score another goal, Jatta scored in the 41st minute to make it 2-0.

Austria had to go into the break with a deficit.

Two red cards for Sturm, two goals for Violet

Shortly after the restart, Emir Karic picked up two yellow cards within five minutes, which meant that Austria had one man more on the pitch from the 53rd minute. Just four minutes later, Seedy Jatta also saw yellow for the second time, the next yellow-red card against Sturm (57').

It didn't take long for the ball to find its way into the Graz goal. Matteo Pérez Vinlöf headed in a cross from Abubakr Barry and the Generali Arena shook for the first time (60'). Shortly afterwards, Stephan Helm took Manfred Fischer and Pérez Vinlöf off and Moritz Wels and Philipp Wiesinger were substituted. Andreas Gruber had to leave the pitch with a shoulder injury and Marko Raguž entered the pitch.

The Violets equalised in the 75th minute, Lucas Galvão headed home a corner from Dominik Fitz to make it 2:2, Maurice Malone shot past the far corner and Kjell Scherpen saved shots from Fitz and Barry (79th, 80th). Raguž shot over, Barry missed - Austria fired from all angles (82nd, 84th).

Cristiano came on in place of Malone in the 84th minute, Moritz Wels shot just wide of the goal (87'). A cross from Aleksandar Dragović reached Cristiano, but his header went over the goal (89'). A final shot from Raguž went into the arms of Scherpen as Austria and Sturm drew 2-2 in an extraordinary match.
