Another ACL rupture for Ziad El Sheiwi

Ziad El Sheiwi, who celebrated his Bundesliga comeback in Hartberg on Sunday, suffered another cruciate ligament tear. Already immediately after his substitution the suspicion existed, which was confirmed in the evening. The 18-year-old will undergo surgery in Innsbruck on Tuesday.

On December 5, 2021, it was the right knee, and now on September 11, 2022, the left. Ziad El Sheiwi is seriously injured again in his comeback game in the highest division. A complete tear of the left anterior cruciate ligament was diagnosed on Sunday evening.

This was bad news not only for Ziad, but also for all his teammates and the staff. There was no great joy about the sovereign 3-0 away win in Hartberg. Like last winter, El Sheiwi will again be operated on in Innsbruck by specialist Dr. Christian Fink, followed by another rehab.

Even though the news was so devastating, the left-back is full of fight: "It feels like the world has collapsed. But giving up is not an option for me!"
