Goalkeeper Patrick Pentz got a rest as planned, Mirko Kos and Ammar Helac were each allowed to get a half of match practice. Marvin Martins was absent due to a bruise, but Georg Teigl and Can Keles returned to the squad after not being able to participate in all the training camp sessions.

In the 20th minute of the match, the first upset occurred: A free-kick cross from Markus Suttner was deflected into the own goal by a player of FC Hradec Kralove, but the referee decided that the ball was offside and disallowed the goal, to the astonishment of all involved. Aleksandar Jukic played a sharp cross to the centre after Leo Ivkic had done the groundwork, where Alex Grünwald took his shot and just missed the goal (27.). On the opposite side, Jakub Rezek shot just wide. Noah Ohio almost finished off a Suttner cross from a promising position.

The scene of the first half followed shortly before the whistle. Suddenly the referee pointed to the penalty spot, he saw a handball by Markus Suttner: Since he was completely alone with this assessment, Adam Vlkanova stepped up to take the penalty, but passed the ball back to Austria in the spirit of fair play. Chapeau!

Jukic takes the lead after one hour

After further chances by Ohio (46.) and Grünwald (60.) Aleksandar Jukic scored the 1:0 for Austria Wien (62.) after an assist by 18-year-old Florian Wustinger, who had been substituted shortly before. After a chance for Ohio (65th), Manfred Fischer converted a precise cross from Jukic with a powerful header to make it 2:0 (72nd). On the other side, goalkeeper Ammar Helac was able to keep out Daniel Vasulin. Three minutes later, Christian Schoissengeyr converted a penalty to make it 3-0 after Wustinger had been fouled (82). Shortly before the end Vasulin reduced the score to 1:3 for FC Hradec Kralove.
