The draw for the group stage will follow on Friday at 14:30. Afterwards, information on the advance booking times and prices of the three-team subscriptions will be announced on the Austria channels. The team and the team staff will fly directly from Istanbul to Klagenfurt on Friday morning, where the Violets will regenerate over the next few days and prepare for the Bundesliga away match against Austria Klagenfurt (Sunday, 17:00).

Austria pressed hard in the opening minutes and had their first chance of the game through a Fischer shot from distance. Fenerbahce took a lucky lead in the 13th minute. A shot by Yüksek from more than 30 metres was deflected unfortunate and unstoppable by Braunöder. The ball dropped behind Früchtl in the goal. The hosts were better in the game with the goal behind them. Lemos (18.) and Peres (19.) tried it from distance for the hosts and shot over.

Ranftl saved a Dursun header on the line. For Austria, Tabakovic did well after Fitz's preparation and shot over the goal when he was in trouble. Shortly before the break, the game went from strength to strength. First Kahveci increased the lead to 2:0 (44th), a minute later Marvin Martins scored with a precise header after a sensitive cross by Dominik Fitz.

Coach Manfred Schmid made a double substitution at the break. James Holland came on for Matthias Braunöder, Can Keles for Marvin Martins. As in the first half, the Violets started very committed. Fitz (50th) tried it from distance, but goalkeeper Bayindir saved with a fist.

Lukas Mühl saved a cross pass with a last second save (56.). Goalkeeper Früchtl saved a Rossi shot (58.). In the 66th minute, Djuricin and Vucic came on as two new strikers for Fitz and Gruber. Fenerbahce continued to dominate the game and Kahveci made it 3:1 with a free-standing lob from the edge of the penalty area. Yandas, who had been substituted shortly before, scored with a well-placed shot from the edge of the penalty area into the far corner to make it 4:1.
