The hunt for points in the UEFA Women's Champions League continues. Following matches against Chelsea and Inter, the next opponent is Juventus. Starting at 6:45 PM, the Veilchen will do everything in their power to secure all three points. In the previous encounter against Inter, Modesta Uka scored Austria’s first-ever goal in the UWCL; however, a painful goal conceded in the final minute of stoppage time cost the team two points, forcing them to settle for a 1–1 draw.
In Juventus, a team with a name recognized far beyond Italy’s borders arrives at the Franz-Horr-Stadium. Since its establishment in 2017, the club’s women’s division has consistently shaken up the Italian league, clinching the championship title six times.
They have already tasted success this year, having won the Italian Super Cup. While their start to the league season hasn’t gone quite as planned—they currently sit in 9th place—head coach Stefan Kenesei warns against reading too much into this snapshot: "Although Juventus has suffered three defeats in their first four league matches, a closer look reveals a different story. If you examine the individual games and the statistics, it becomes clear that things weren't as one-sided as the results might suggest. I believe that while the results haven't gone their way, their level of play and tactical approach should not be underestimated. We are well-equipped to assess them accurately, though I doubt they will be brimming with confidence after three defeats."
The Veilchen will play Thursday’s match in a special-edition red jersey. To mark the occasion, we are running a special promotion in our fan shop: starting Thursday, every order of the special-edition jersey will include free custom printing.
Although many seats at the Franz-Horr-Stadium have already been snapped up for tomorrow’s match, tickets are still available at fak.at/uwcl or via our fan shop. Tickets for the Veilchen-VIP area can also still be purchased at fak.at/uwcl-vip. The match will be broadcast live by the official UWCL broadcast partner Disney+ and ORF Sport+.
