Aleksandar Jukic was involved in the first attack by Austria Wien, from the left offensive side he passed to Max Sax on the other side (7’) – however, no one took the cross.
During the first half Austria Wien had more and more chances. Jukic failed with a shot on SVM goalkeeper Unger (29’), Thomas Ebner was standing offside during the follow-up shot. Christoph Monschein also tested Mattersburg’s goalkeeper with a shot from an acute angle after a great assist by Thomas Ebner (35’).
Mattersburg had their first chance out of nowhere. Goalkeeper Mirko Kos corrected the error by Austria Wien’s defence in a one-on-one against Olatunji (36’). Shortly before the break, Monschein (45’) missed from promising position.
Kos parried a long-range shot by Luka Pichler (48’) after the break, Rath failed after the following corner. In the 54th minute the violet lead: After a strong follow-up shot by Patrick Wimmer, from the right-back, Bright Edomwonyi passed to Max Sax, who finished with a strong shot – 1-0 (54’).
Substitute Benedikt Pichler had a great chance for the second goal after an energetic shot by central defender Borkovic but missed the goal (66’). Three minutes later, again Pichler failed on the right side after assist by Demaku and Jukic (64’).
Austria Wien had another good chance with an attack over Wimmer, Pichler and Edomwonyi. On the other side, Höller failed after a cross by Pusic (86’). SVM goalkeeper Unger defused a direct free kick from Dominik Prokop (88’) shortly before the end.
