Austria Wien has been a partner and supporter of the initiative “NEIN ZU KRANK UND ARM” as well as the non-profit foundation CAPE 10 for many years. As part of the support project MAX & LARA Austria Wien shows the fates of some affected families and presents ways to help during the game against TSV Hartberg (Saturday, 30.11., 5pm). Together with the entire Austria Wien family, the club can make life easier for these children.
‘Social responsibility has a long tradition at FK Austria Wien. At the upcoming Bundesliga match, our players and the Austria Wien family are making a strong case for ill and poor children. With the project MAX & LARA we have a pioneering role. We are proud to be part of this campaign and stand behind the project MAX & LARA 100%,’ explains sports director Peter Stöger.
In the new video for this promotion Austria Wien collects donations for Oliver and Theodor. Both children have a genetic disease and urgently need therapy. ‘Not everyone has the chance, despite their will, effort and ambition to fulfil their biggest dream. I had this opportunity and would like to support those for whom this is not possible and would like to stand up for ill and poor children. Every child has the right to be happy,’ says Tarkan Serbest.
The illness of a child has a big impact not only on the child's world but on the whole family. Oliver has genetic muscle atrophy - this mainly affects the pelvic and shoulder girdle (legs, shoulders, arms, etc.). Unfortunately, muscle atrophy usually leads to a life in a wheelchair. Oliver & his family strongly hope that gene therapy will be possible very soon. Theodor has a gene disorder that affects, among other things, the entire musculoskeletal system and also the language.
‘We are very happy that FK Austria Wien actively supports this serious illness and we very much hope that many people will be able to honour this exemplary contribution and thus help children lead a better life’, says Prof. Siegfried Meryn, founder and initiator of the child support project MAX & LARA and the initiative “NEIN ZU ARM UND KRANK” by the CAPE 10 Foundation.
With a donation you help to improve the fate and the quality of life for these children.
