Christoph Martschinko leaves Austria Wien and moves on to FC Riga in Latvia with immediate effect. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
The 27-year-old joined the club from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015, first on loan and then a year later on a permanent deal. In the past six and a half years, Martschinko has made a total of 116 appearances for Austria Wien, including 19 at international level. He played a further 24 games for the Young Violets in the 2. Liga.
The left-back originally had a contract with the Violets until the end of the current season. In Latvia, Martschinko will meet former Austria Wien coach Thorsten Fink, who has been in charge at FC Riga since the beginning of January 2022.
Austria Wien thanks him for his commitment and wishes Christoph Martschinko all the best for his private and sporting future!
