Austria Vienna will play Wolfsberger AC on Sunday at 14:30. The Carinthians are a direct rival for a place in the championship group. Coach Michael Wimmer categorises the direct clash with WAC in the 15th round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga as "not decisive, but very important".

It's the final phase before the winter break, with three Bundesliga rounds left on the programme after the last international break of 2023. The Violets play twice in Carinthia against direct rivals for a place in the top six and once at home against the third-placed team in the table: the away game against WAC (Sunday, 14:30) is followed by the home game against LASK (Sunday, 3 December, 17:00) and the away game in Klagenfurt (Saturday, 9 December, 17:00).
Austria are now unbeaten in eight matches across all competitions and have gone 795 minutes without conceding a goal. They recently put in a strong performance in the 0-0 draw at home to Salzburg, winning five of their last six games, and are now one point behind sixth-placed WAC in the table:
"The funny thing is that despite this run, not much has happened because we didn't score well at the start of the season. We are in seventh place with 19 points, so we have 0.0 centimetres of leeway to rest on one series - the series doesn't really matter, we have to keep winning because our goal is to get into the top six," says coach Michael Wimmer.
