Manfred Schmid saw no reason to change his line-up after the 2-0 win at LASK. Manfred Fischer met his former club for the first time.

Damir Canadi had to continue without one goalie and ex-Veilchen Tino Casali, Martin Kobras was in goal. Furthermore, there were two changes after the 1:1 against Ried, Emanuel Schreiner and Dominik Reiter replaced Boris Prokopic and Sandi Krizman.

0:0 at half-time

A game-dominating Austria also had the first chance on a pleasant Saturday afternoon at the Generali Arena. Leonardo Ivkić was well placed on the right and his cross was met by Aleksandar Jukić, but his shot was blocked (3.). A cross from Markus Suttner was cleared by Berkay Dabanli, Jukić took a full shot, but just missed (15.). Eric Martel provided Marco Djuričin with an ideal pass, but he failed to beat Kobras in a one-on-one.

Vesel Demaku's follow-up shot was deflected for a corner (24).Christian Schoissengeyr headed over the goal after a Markus Suttner corner (38). In the 41st minute, Manfred Fischer headed towards the Altach goal, but Kobras was able to defuse the sharp shot. Fischer got the ball again, but Jukić chased his cross over the bar.

There were no chances from the Vorarlberg side in the first half and the game went into the break with a 0:0 score.

0:0 at the end

Noah Ohio came on for Aleksandar Jukić at the break and immediately created a chance through Manfred Fischer, but he failed again to beat Kobras (50th). Patrick Pentz had to intervene for the first time with a header from Atdhe Nuhiu in the 56th minute. Manfred Schmid brought on Georg Teigl and Muharem Husković for Leonardo Ivkić and Marco Djuričin 25 minutes from time.

After a foul on Husković, Markus Suttner took a free-kick from 20 metres, but Martin Kobras saved the well-taken ball (82nd). In the following action, Vesel Demaku was brought down in the penalty area. Referee Manuel Schüttengruber decided on a swallow and showed Demaku a very harsh yellow-red card (82nd).

Austria was thus outnumbered in the final minutes, but little changed in the game. A shot by Ohio was too weak (90th). Pentz saved a shot by Marco Meilinger in injury time.

The game ended goalless, Austria is now unbeaten in five Bundesliga games.
